Fashion, make-overs, and shoes...did I mention shoes? Crazy Annie might not have it all together in her own life, but she helps others improve theirs in little ways. And sometimes, little ways lead to big ones...and sometimes when you help others, you end up helping yourself!
I really wanted to like this book, and it has all the right ingredients, but somehow it just didn't gel for me. I enjoyed the basic premise; personal shopper gets dream job as TV makeover-show host, and I liked the final resolution of the book. It was all the smaller things on the way there which spoiled the book for me I thought the subplot of the child snatching particularly stupid. I found the perpetually sunshiney Annie Valentine cloying and oversweet. In contrast the evil nemesis, a failed Apprentice contestant, was completely one-dimensional, and with no redeeming features at all she was simply not believable as a character. In fact, all the characters were cardboard cut-outs, and it makes me realise how much well-written characters make or break my chick-lit experience. I wouldn't recommend this book for your regular escapism dose.
Have found this series of books easy to read and relaxing.
It is a set that means you don't tax your brain after a hectic day. Am finding this
series now hard to put down.
Another enjoyable Annue Valentine read...You know what you are getting with this series of books, but they do not disappoint.
Another fun read about Annie and her antics. Its odd though how she seems to not really care how her negative actions are affecting her family. Great beach day read .
